TORQUE - MNHS REPRESENTATIVE APPLICATIONS
CLOSING Sunday 19 March 2023 @ 11:59 PM
Are you passionate about Global Health? Want to organise and promote exciting education events for your fellow peers in the MNHS faculty? We here at Torque are looking for a passionate MNHS Representative to join our team in 2023
Torque is a Global Health education program run by students for students, with the aim of fostering a community of future health professionals that are well equipped with knowledge of global issues facing society.
This is an exciting new role that we are adding to our committee in 2023. In past years, we have predominantly been a medical student run committee. As part of our outreach expansion to all healthcare students, we are wanting a student of the MNHS faculty to help us achieve just that - to reach our fellow healthcare students at Monash through promotion and outreach, to encourage greater breadth of disciplines at our events!
The only requirements for this role are that you are a student under the MNHS faculty (Biomedicine, Psychology, Nursing, Paramedicine, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Radiation Sciences, Radiography) and studying a course outside of the BMedSci/MD course.
No prior experience is necessary, all you need is a passion for global health!

!!!SURGICAL OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL BIOMEDICAL STUDENTS!!!
We would like to invite all of you to this year’s surgical conference!
The Australasian Students’ Surgical Conference (ASSC) aims to bring together university students and junior health professionals from around Australasia for three days of surgical education and entertainment. In collaboration with Australasian Students’ Surgical Association, ASSC seeks to promote surgical education through skills workshops, keynote speakers and research.
Historically reserved for medical students, we are this year extending the online conference tickets to pre-medical or biomedical students across Australasia. If you are interested in pursuing a career in surgery, medicine or just want a taste of what life is like as a medical student or doctor then this is for you. You will also have the opportunity to connect with surgeons and medical students to help propel your future career.
Delegates will be able to experience talks from plenary speakers who are top surgeons in their field, academic breakout sessions, surgical workshops, research competitions, social events, and more! The event will run online from the 5th to the 7th of May (Friday evening until Sunday afternoon).
Any research that you may be doing or have completed can be entered through our online submission and you could be in the running to win automatic publication!
Purchase online tickets here for $80: https://assc2023online.getqpay.com/
(Note: in person attendance for the weekend before is reserved for medical students only)
Stay tuned for future posts which will reveal how #ASSC23 will immerse you in the cutting edge of surgery! #AtTheCuttingEdge
